Frequently Asked Questions
What is Intelagate?
Intelagate is a wireless product consisting of two devices—a Tailgate Sensor and a Charging Unit. The Tailgate Sensor adheres to your pickup truck’s tailgate and the Charging Unit is plugged into the 12 volt power outlet found on your pickup truck’s dashboard.
When you start your pickup truck’s engine, the two devices talk to each other. The Charging Unit —installed inside your truck’s cab—displays the status of your tailgate’s position and alerts you if you have left your tailgate down.
What Are the Benefits of Intelagate?
Drivers of Pickup Trucks:
Intelagate protects you from losing valuable cargo out of the back of your pickup truck by alerting you if the tailgate has been left down.
Drivers of Delivery Trucks:
The Charging Unit alerts you from inside the truck’s cab if the truck’s door(s) are left open or come ajar. Intelagate can prevent you from losing goods and packages which might fall out of the back of your truck.
Drivers of Dump Trucks:
Driving a dump truck with the bed up could cause a serious traffic accident. Intelagate alerts you from inside the cab if your truck bed is up so that you can lower it into the safe, driving position.
Drivers of Semi Trucks:
If you have an unsecured hitch or unlatched hitch you would want to know it before driving away. From inside the cab, Intelagate alerts you and protects you from having an accident from losing your hitch.
Where Can I Purchase Intelagate?
For pickup trucks, Intelagate can be purchased on this site at the bottom of the Pickup Truck’s page (Buy Now).
For commercial trucks, please contact a sales representative to discuss having Intelagate customized for your fleet of trucks.
How long does the battery last?
Our high quality lithium ion battery should last 18 months before you need to replace it. Replacement is a snap, or should we say... a twist! Just rotate the sensor, and place a new battery without even removing the adhesive.
Does it make noise?
It will alert the driver with a chime if the tailgate is down when the vehicle is started.
